Birthed in the pause

Image
It’s been a minute…😊 I kept telling myself I would post something in 2025, but somehow it never happened. Since the year began, I felt gentle nudges to return to the blog, yet I kept postponing it. Then something unexpected happened today; a post from 2021 received a comment from Teanu and a like from Fisayo. Facebook brought it to my attention. I clicked, reread the post, and suddenly… voila! 💫That was the push I needed to return to this space. So, welcome back to me — and to those of you who kept reading, even when there was nothing new to read. Thank you for staying💕 Where do I begin? With 2025? Hmm… 2025 came and went like the wind💨. Yet not a single day passed without a blessing from Abba Father. Even in the busyness, there was grace🙌 One moment that stands out vividly was my two-week leave in November. I truly needed those days; to pause, to breathe, to be still, to rejuvenate, and to listen. I did nothing ambitious or dramatic. I simply rested. In that quiet space, ...

Clearing out my wallet

July is Over! Now, we look forward to Abba ushering us into the best of all months. Just a quick story from me today.... I walked and kept walking, eagerly waiting to see their car approaching. Whose car, you might wonder? Alright, let's back up a little bit 😃 On this particular day, my uncle (just hypothetically), my neighbor, my... well, someone needed extra cash. This was about seven years ago. They needed cash, and all I had was just enough to get me to work later in the day since I was on the afternoon shift. They promised they would be back an hour before I had to leave for work, so I lent them the money. Fast forward to one hour before my shift... I saw no sign of them, nor did I hear the sound of their car. Well, over time, I had come to learn that faith never sits waiting—faith moves, faith does something. So, I took my bath, got dressed, picked up my bag (with an empty wallet), and started walking. I walked quite a distance, singing and praising as I went. Pause: I re...

Cravings

Image
Hey Fam,   I hope June turned out way better than you imagined or planned. For me, June went by so fast, but each day was a blessing!   I heard the best news from a friend recently. I was so excited because prior to that I was led to do something based on the promptings I had in my spirit. Let me share the story: ****  Earlier in the year, while at the office, my phone vibrated, and I looked to see who was calling; it was Lilian (not her real name). It had been a while since I had heard from her, so I picked up my phone and answered excitedly. We talked and laughed, and then she mentioned the main reason why she was calling: she wanted bush meat from Zaria.   Ha, the bells began clashing in my head...lol. My very thoughts were that this craving wasn’t ordinary. Oti sele (It has happened)…But I said nothing and continued the conversation. Bush meat ke??? I told her I wasn’t sure I could get it for her.   Fortunately, a few hours later, my co...

Light bearers

I walked into my class to set things in place for the 4-year-olds as they arrived. I love getting to the class ahead of them so I can give them a warm welcome hug. As the class began, we sang and danced to praise and worship songs the children had chosen. Their faces usually light up when you ask them to suggest a song to sing. Pause— A particular child comes to mind; let’s call her “Kate.” Kate always suggests the same song whenever she’s called upon. I smile every time I hear her say, “Jesus loves me, this I know.” Immediately she says it, the whole class joins in enthusiastically. The next most popular song in the class is “Hail my Jesus ebube…” I look forward to being in class because, as little and innocent as these kids are, they say things that remind me of the simplicity of the gospel and life. Back to the story— After the praise and worship, and the confession on that fateful Sunday, we moved on to the lesson for the day, which was about the need to shine our l...

Moments with Grace 12 - Be sober and vigilant!

"Hello everyone! How did April treat you? Today marks Grace's final post with us. We're really going to miss her. Thank you, Grace, for consistently sharing timely and insightful posts over the past 12 months. May you reap the rewards of the seeds you've sown. Amen!" Grace, we eagerly anticipate your return to the blog. *** This is the 12th part series of these write ups and the last one on “Moments with Grace”. As I round up, I would like to remind us of the need to stay alert in the Spirit in this perverse generation. 1 Thessalonians 5:6 says: “So be on your guard, not asleep like the others. Stay alert and be clearheaded.“ ‭Nowadays, a lot of things try to get our attention thereby pulling us off our focus on our dear Saviour Jesus Christ. However we must always remember Jesus our promised Messiah came in the flesh, died and resurrected, presently seats at the right hand of the throne of God the Father Almighty and is soon coming back again to take us hom...

Moments with Grace 11 - Jesus Christ our Living Hope

Image
The month of March is drawing to a close, and it's not lost on me that it coincides with Easter Day. To me, this convergence symbolizes a fresh start, a chance to delve into the profound implications of the completed work of the cross. But enough preamble, let's dive into today's installment of "Moments with Grace." In this edition, Grace will delve into the profound topic of Jesus Christ, our Living Hope. We are in the season of Easter which is the bedrock of our Christian   Faith💖 The Bible says : ”And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.“ John 17:3 NKJV Jesus is the son of the living God. He is the way, the Truth and the Life No one comes to the father except through Him. Jesus is the lamb that was slain so sinners like you and I can be set free from the wages of sin(death) The passage of scripture below gives us a vivid description of the origin of sin and God’s gift of Grace: ” ...

Moments with Grace 10: Rainbow for Christ

Image
Was it just me, or did the month of February seem to move rather slowly? However, we are glad that the month is ending today 💃 💃 💃 On this edition of "Moments with Grace," she will be discussing the Rainbow for Christ . The Rainbow is a symbol of God’s covenant with man in the book of Genesis 9:12-17 not to destroy the earth again with water as seen in the text below: ”Then God said, “I am giving you a sign of my covenant with you and with all living creatures, for all generations to come. I have placed my rainbow in the clouds. It is the sign of my covenant with you and with all the earth. When I send clouds over the earth, the rainbow will appear in the clouds, and I will remember my covenant with you and with all living creatures. Never again will the floodwaters destroy all life. When I see the rainbow in the clouds, I will remember the eternal covenant between God and every living creature on earth.” Then God said to Noah, “Yes, this rainbow is the sign of the cove...
