A minute can change everything

As we headed to the hospital, we met the bumblebee guys on the road and we had to stop. Our papers just expired the previous day and we planned to sort that out once we were through with the hospital bills. They asked for the papers to the car and we gave them.
“Ma, you know, your papers have expired right,” One of them said
“Yes” Ify replied and went on to explain the situation but they turned deaf ears to her.

Couldn’t they have shown mercy to the one heading to the hospital?
“You have two options, one of my guys would accompany you to our office just down the road or you can choose to drop your driver’s license and get it when you come to renew your papers,” The overall bumblebee guy said to us

Ify looked at him “Do you have any other workable option because my license is not with me and I have to get my sister to the hospital”

None of them was listening. They walked away to stop the cars that were approaching while we sat down in the car deciding what to do. We decided to leave the car and take a bike to the hospital.

“Life is that important”

The bike we flagged down had to stop way head, as we walked down towards him, one of the bumble guys asked: “Where are you going to?” We hissed and kept walking. Then I heard my name, I turned in shock to see who it was. It was Nate, one of my course mates from grad school. He just came around with a new batch of bumble bees.

“A pretty small globe we live in”

“What is the matter?” he asked
While we explained, I looked ahead and saw a bike rushing towards us uncontrollably. I quickly dashed out of the road, I tried to pull Ify along but before I knew it, she was on the floor. Ify was a strong lady, the bike had hit her and stopped, flinging its rider off it but not without knocking another lady out. The lady lay on the floor in pains and almost lifeless.

“Anything can happen a minute; life is either given or taken, doors open, doors close, promotions or demotions happen, peace can be restored or conflicts continue”

“A minute can change everything for good or vice versa”

I quickly went to Ify, she was in pains; her chest and side hurt from the impact. I was angry ‘cos if they had allowed us to go, all these could have been avoided. What was most annoying was that the other lady was left on the floor and the bumblebee guys didn’t even bother taking her to the nearest hospital, they left her to the mercy of passerby’s and carried on with their duties.

The biologists say there is a selfish gene in every human being, I second that!

Nate walked up to us and told us we could be heading to the hospital for the initial reason and now to have a doctor check Ify out. I wondered what could have happened if Nate wasn't there. Anyway thank GOD for timely help.

Be good to everyone, you never know when they will pop up in your life again

By the way, everyone is doing good both the pillar that stopped the bike in the person of Ify...lol and the other person that was with her.

Make those minutes count!

yspot!
