Grateful for 2021

Image
2021 was different, I grew in vital areas of life. I am glad for growth and progress๐Ÿ˜Ž The first half of the year was awesome, the staggered shift at work made it more awesome๐Ÿ˜‚ Strangely, I did not travel, my farthest journey was to Gwags, however, I plan to do more traveling as the days go by, and if possible japa๐Ÿ’จ. But first I need to keep my promise to iya ibeji and Ninma before I am disowned or de-friended๐Ÿ˜ I must say, I went from victory to victory, meaning the enemy showed up lots (I can’t wait for him to be thrown into the bottomless pit๐Ÿ’ฃ) but because the blood and the name agrees , I prevailed and triumphed as compared to previous years. This part of my life will be shared eventually, in a book most likely when the time is right. I am grateful for life; grateful to Olorun to laye mi ; oba adake dajo for all the victories so far. Indeed I serve a GOD who is powerful๐Ÿ’ช . I had a lot of high points this past year, I will mention just 3 that got me teary๐Ÿ˜ญ; first w

GOD is still in charge

How was November people? Great, or just good๐Ÿ˜ƒ Or you have no words to describe how it went, smiles November was beautiful๐Ÿ˜Ž Did everything turn out the way I expected? Nope, not exactly, in fact this last day was exceptionally shocking... hahahaha๐Ÿ˜‚ However, the fact that I enjoyed His presence, sensed the Holy Spirit and angels working things out for my good, and for opened doors and timely interventions, I must say that GOD was indeed good and faithful๐Ÿ˜ How will December be? I can't tell you exactly how it will be but I can tell you one thing for sure; GOD is still in charge , and with Him in charge I am certain that He will blow your mind, exceed your expectations and leave you wow-ed๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ˜ณ And even when nothing seems to be going as planned, keep the faith No matter how things look, keep thanking Him As my dear dad will always say; never grumble, never complain, always be grateful The fact that you made it to the last month of 2021 should have you praising GOD all the way in

Allowing others grow

Some years ago, I woke up to see that a bird had made her nest by my window. My first thought was to get a stick and scatter the nest but I was led to do otherwise. So I had a bird as a neighbor for a while. I was excited when she laid an egg, and I kept waiting and watching to see the egg hatch. I walked by to check one morning, and I was so delighted to see the egg had hatched and a cute bird was there looking at me, eventually their squatting season was over, and they left. I immediately, destroyed the nest, and closed the window before another bird would show up.   What did I learn? The importance of making room for someone/something to grow, blossom and flourish. Was it easy? Nope, it was not. The cooing sound from the bird and the cold coming through the window were things I had to endure for few weeks As we glide into November, be alert and sensitive to the people GOD will bring your way. It might not be so convenient but GOD has put in you the grace that will allow

Be well balanced and always alert

I had to get somewhere quickly, and had to order a bolt ride, half way to the place, we got stuck in hold up. I was scanning through my phone when he was talking to the guys that sold stuffs by the road side. I looked up to see what he wanted to buy; a beautiful knife, and I watched as he pulled it out of it's scabbard, and the warning bells and horns began blaring in my head...lol Keep a cool head. Stay alert. The Devil is poised to pounce, and would like nothing better than to catch you napping. Keep your guard up 1st Peter 5:8 (MSG) Be well balanced and always alert , because your enemy, the devil, roams around incessantly, like a roaring lion looking for its prey to devour 1st Peter 5:8 (TPT) It is so easy to forget that the devil's job is to go about, seeking whom to devour, and he has been at this for a very long time, meaning he assumes he knows all the "koros"(short cuts) but he forgets that he was created by our Father.  Still, never forget that and be wel

What is in you?

Image
Everyone carries a presence What is in you can be discerned when people come in contact with you A running tap will give the type of water flowing through its pipe; clean or dirty A sponge soaked in water, will be full of water and be dripping out water A slice of bread soaked in tea, will give you what? ๐Ÿ˜‚ What you have soaked yourself in, is what you will give out What you exhale reveals what you are inhaling or taking in You have to be loaded, but not just with anything Because you are far too precious                                         What you have soaked yourself in, is what you will give out Some years back, I and few others attended an event at a Baptist Church close to the house In the course of the service, the choir began to sing this song:   “Osuba re re o, Oba ta o ri, ta n ri se owo re, osuba re re o” (You are worthy oh Lord, Invisible GOD, the miracle worker, You are worthy oh Lord)   I really can’t recall if that was first time I was

Count Your Blessings

Image
Over the past few days, I have had the overwhelming need to keep Thanking GOD It kind of made me remember my dad One of the things you take away after talking with dad was the need to be thankful Dad used to say; Don’t grumble Don’t murmur Don’t complain But always be thankful   I don’t have much to say in this post actually๐Ÿ˜ƒ I just decided to remind someone out there to count their blessings and be thankful And no matter what….let the atmosphere around you remain a joyful and thanks-filled one Yspot!

Go for it!

I recall the borehole known as the far borehole  back at my secondary school. It was called the far borehole  because it was located a good distance away from the hostel. The first time I went to the borehole, it felt like I was traveling. But the gravity of the distance hit me when I was heading back with a bucket-full of water. Why? Majorly because when I was heading to the boarding house, my mum got me a unique bucket. It was a really larggggge bucket…and very heavy. So heading back to the hostel with the bucket-full of water was war๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚. But the good thing about boarding houses is that your bucket is never yours, so it saved my head๐Ÿ˜‚ One other annoying thing about the borehole was the everlasting queue. You had to queue and wait until the seniors were done getting water before you could get yours. The waiting was endless sometimes, and the sun didn’t help either. However, the good part is that eventually you get clean drinking water. Only on few occasions do I recall going bac

Never Forget...

You are special You are amazing You are wonderfully made GOD invested so much in you; so that you can wow your world as you showcase His beauty, wisdom, and glory.   There is nothing wrong with you!  Even when you can’t do somethings as swiftly as others can. If you observe, you’ll realize that you have your own strengths too.  Not everyone can do the things you  do, so stop belittling yourself. While you should decide to learn and improve yourself in other areas where you seem less talented, don’t lose focus of what you are good at Like the lion, be the King of your jungle๐Ÿ’ช   There is nothing wrong with you when you don’t have the things that others have Give it time!๐Ÿ’ฃ Everyone’s timing is different And remember to enjoy the good in the present๐Ÿ˜€   Lastly, never let the devil get you to the point where you doubt GOD’s faithfulness. The fact that you have the ability to ponder on GOD's blessings is still a testament to His faithfulness. It takes a sound mind to reason things out

Seat Belt Palava

Image
It was a really busy day, I had been working all morning and well into the afternoon and I really needed a break. Just as I was pondering how to cool off a bit to rest and refresh my mind, a colleague of mine, who we will call lady KAS, came by and stated she was heading out. I asked her where she was heading to, and if it wasn’t too far, so that I could go with her. Gladly, it was just 15 minutes away. We got into the car and got gisting. As we drove out, I noticed the seat belt alarm was blaring; meaning someone wasn’t using her seat belt. I turned to her and said, ‘You need to wear your seat belt’. She looked at me puzzled, so I stressed it again, ‘Wear your seat belt!’.  She smiled and said, ‘I’m wearing my seat belt’. Then I looked and saw that I was the guilty one!... and together we burst out laughing. I thought about, and quoted the verse that says, take off the log in your eyes before removing the speck in your neighbor’s eyes. My GOD!, it’s so easy to point an accusing fing

Be at rest... GOD has you covered

At the office, we got into a conversation with my friends about how lady M had the qualities that made her a true Nigerian because she comes from the northern part of Nigeria, got married to someone from the East, and is slightly fluent in the major Western language. We jokingly asked what tribe her son will get married to, and she said he will most likely get married to a Canadian woman. We burst into laughter ๐Ÿ˜‚ and told her she had her son's life all planned out already. And I heard the small gentle voice say: If a mother has her son's future and life planned, how much more me your GOD? It hit me... ๐Ÿ˜ญ It is not that I do not know that GOD has it all perfectly planned out but sometimes we look around, and you be wondering and asking "Where is my capable daddy?"๐Ÿ˜Ÿ Well, I think this is because we want to know all that GOD has planned for us all at once. However, GOD doesn't work that way. He unveils it as at when He deems fit. Sometimes this happens gradually

Mercy is all we need

Image
I arrived home and walked into the house. Power was out, and the light from my phone wasn't sufficient, but I managed it and found my way around the house. I quickly fixed something for us to eat before Jane arrived home. She came just in time. I dished the food, and while we waited for it to cool down a bit, Jane had just gotten some new items and decided to do a little fash par...(Fashion Parade). I watched, and we both laughed. *Friendship remains one of the best gifts GOD gave to man. Having a friend who sincerely laughs with you out of a pure heart is something to be grateful for. Back to the story... We decided to eat. Everyone had a spot where we sat to eat. So without looking, I moved down from the bed with my back to hit my spot and as I did, Jane shouted, and I moved back onto the bed and turned round to see what she had seen. I remained still for about 2 minutes speaking under my breathe over and over; "Lord have mercy". Pause.... Mercy is one attribute of GOD

New roads

Image
I love seeing new roads sprouting out or being constructed, especially when it is being carved out from where I never expected or considered, or from a place I never thought possible.  Recently, I passed by an area, and I saw a new road being carved out from a place filled with trees. I smiled to myself as my mind drifted to the days ahead, and I could not help but think about the new roads you and I have no clue of, which GOD will be unveiling in and with time ๐Ÿ‘ 2021 is less by 30 days. Without mincing words, a lot has happened within the first month of the year. Some have crossed over to the other side, others have been born into this side of Heaven, some are dazed at the doors GOD has opened, others can’t seem to figure out what exactly GOD is up to, and so many would rather be in another part of the world rather than here in the green land๐Ÿ˜. Not their fault though…this green land has lots of red, brown, and black patches ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ˜– I do not know what these few days have been like for
