Version 2014 of Me.....

……and so the year 2013 ends today…gbam! No be news abi? True talk, its stale news that the year ends today; that’s for countries like mine that are yet to cross over into the New Year. So I asked myself what actually makes the year “new”? Is it the change in calendar or the cross over services held around the World or could it to be the screams at 12 am, the calls and text messages from loved ones? Yeah! Those are the sight and sounds that signify and herald a New Year. But there’s more. I believe I have a role to play in making the New Year a New one indeed. I have to be prepared for the coming year as I say goodbye to 2013. By now the version 2014 of me should be loading ready to be activated by midnight. I should have deleted all unnecessary craps and weights; installed fresh plans and programmes for 2014. The same old me doing the same things the same old way I have always done them won’t work. Out dated versions of soft wares do not function properly and that’

Reflection 2- Myself and I

What was the relationship with myself like? Hmmm…let me give you some minutes to think about that…..*smiles* Did I enjoy being me or I lived each day trying to be someone else ‘cos I was wallowing in the streams of self-comparison. Did I talk to myself? Well the only person who knows the truth about you better than others is you, that’s aside your maker. The need for “me to speak to me” and the need for “you to speak to you” is vital and if you don’t say the truth to yourself, you might as well remain in deception. Sometimes the best person to straighten you out is you. Did I spend time with me? What new things did you find out about yourself this year? To get to know someone better you have to spend time with that person. Did I take care of myself as I should have, did I do away with unnecessary luggage, did I eat the right things, was I there for me or I was too busy to notice me and my needs. Goals Was I able to achieve my set goals or did I just step int

Reflections-Careful thoughts

2013 is gradually rolling out and 2014 is rolling in. For the coming year to better we have to do things differently. What things exactly someone may be wondering? Well,   that’s what REFLECTIONS IS ALL ABOUT. So  lets take a trip down the memory lane of 2013 and find out those things that we  need to do differently.   The next year has to be better and will be. Now is a good time to decide, plan and say what you desire of the year 2014. Reflection 1 - God and I What was our relationship like? Communication Did we talk regularly, did I tell him stuffs both tiny and big stuffs? Did I whisper my joys, my love, my pains, my fears, my inadequacies, troubles or I carried them myself? Time Did I spend quality time with Him or I was busy doing a whole lot of other things? Was I there for him? Love Did I love Him whole ha or partly? Did I let someone else take his place? Did I run to Him first or to my friends? Did I recognize His love for me or denied and ignor

Celebrating Nigeria - Nigerian Children, teenagers and young adults speak

Image
They might be young but their words also count. After all, they are the future of Nigeria. Here they come…………… Eve , Esther, Lizzy  , Heritage, Ela, Olive and Happy.  Ok........shhssssshh let’s hear the future generation speak. Eve an 8 year old, who is into beads making and a grade 5 student of a school in Ibadan says she is proud to be a Nigerian. This is what she has to say about Nigeria at 53; “I believe Nigeria is a good country”. Do you sometimes feel like leaving this good country? Sometimes…. …..and if you are given the opportunity to lead Nigeria, what's the first thing you will do? I will repair the roads and stop people from breaking the rules. Lizzy a student at the University of Ife says, “at the moment I’m proud to be a Nigerian and truly do not feel like leaving the country yet”. By "at the moment" you mean... I haven't been out of the country yet. When I eventually do, I just might not be proud to be a Nigerian anymo

Hello peeps, It’s been a while and I must say I’m glad to be here on yspot! again. And as you know, I’m here to do the usual *wink* to talk about relationship matters. Today I will be talking about maintaining the shine of your relationships ‘cos relationships are like shoes and you shouldn’t let the shine go. A friend of mine once told me that relationships are like a pair of shoes; once you’ve gotten the perfect pair, you’ll hold on to it forever, even if it’s got a few dents and scratches. Generally after many months, maybe years, of being with one person, you tend to forget what brought you together. You forget what made you save up all that money and what made you ignore the other
