All for love sake

I remember mummy mixing my medication when I was little, the days before I understood swallowing your drugs was the best option. With diligence and patience, mummy would put the tabs in a spoon, add water to it and crush. On a certain occasion the smell of the mixture alone made me want to run and hide forever. For where? I was grabbed and the mixture was poured down through my oesophagus while I struggled to break free.

*It was an horrible experience but nevertheless for my good*

I recalled this scenario because of something I heard Pastor Dr. Paul Enenche said recently. Our parents would go through any length to give us our medications just so our bodies could fight whatever was ailing us, and so we could regain our strength again. At no point in time did they our parents think not giving those medication was an option. Why? Because they knew and understood how much good those drugs would do to us, and they also knew the repercussion of failing to give them to us; not only would it be detrimental but the possibility of death could not be ruled out. So no matter how hard we struggled, cried, kicked and screamed, they ignored the cries and ensured we swallowed a good portion of the medication.

*Is GOD any different?*

During the shaping and modeling process that He takes us through, should our cries, sad looks and the questions we throw at him, cause Him to stop and leave us the way we are?

*He cares too much to leave us the way we are*

While physical ailments might be visible and also have accompanying symptoms, spiritual ailments on the other hand cannot be seen visibly but their symptoms can be seen.

All GOD does to us is to give us the medication suited for the spiritual ailment he sees in us. He will gladly give to us the medication to deal with pride whenever He sees the symptoms manifesting, He might just decide to demote us or take us through a phase that will make us cough out the sputum of pride. Or is it when we seem in a hurry to get things done that we do not wait for His directions? He can decide to make all our options useless and close the doors until we find our way back to His feet, acknowledge His Lordship and ask for His help and direction.

And just the way our parents decide to deworm us out  the blues, some situations might not necessarily be because we've erred or He has seen a negative symptom brewing, it might just be because He wants to purge, cleanse and purify us.

*GOD chastises the ones He loves*

Our parents give us those medication not because they hate us but because they love us, want us to be healthy and to live long. Same with GOD, He loves you and needs you to be who He has called you to be, anything less than that attracts His attention to you, and He will do whatever it will take to get you in shape. Will it hurt? Medications come in different varieties, some sweet, others sour and majority of them; bitter. It depends on the option He chooses...smiles

So whatever you might be going through, its not because He hates you or has forgotten about you, its because He loves you, wants the best for you and also because He can't afford to see you live a life below what His Son has paid for.

You are His child and He wants to see you become all He has purposed and ordained.

Ignore the lies of the devil and bask in the unfailing love that GOD has for you. On the wings of His love, you soar higher.

GOD loves you!!!
