2024: A Year of Restoration and Divine Surprises

Happy New Year, everyone! 😎

2024 has been described in many ways, but for me, some of the resonating themes are: Rest (Isinmi), Great Rewards, Greater Possibilities, Alignment, and Restoration.

Recently, while reading the book of Genesis, I discovered a profound depiction of restoration. When Joseph revealed himself to his brothers and requested them to bring back their father, I could vividly imagine the myriad of emotions running through their minds as they embarked on the journey back home. From the shock of seeing Joseph again to recalling the dreams he shared with them, and finally, the overwhelming relief and joy of delivering the incredible news to their father that his favorite son was alive.

Imagine being Benjamin or inside the chariots as they returned to tell their father that Joseph was alive. In my mind, I would be secretly wishing the chariots could transform into jets so I could appear before Jacob sharperly (swiftly). 😂

But since the jet wish wasn't feasible and we were still in the chariots, as we approached the street to the house, I would jump out before anyone—perhaps Reuben and Judah—and start running and screaming, "Daddy, Joseph is alive!" until I reach the door to his room or hut.

*In 2024, my prayer is that you will not only be a bearer of good news but also experience the fullness of joy that comes from receiving good news*

Back to restoration—I doubt that it ever crossed Jacob's mind that Joseph was still alive. He most likely had lost hope😞. So, picture when he sees me, Benjamin-Tope, shouting, "Daddy, Joseph is alive!" Maybe I would even be rolling on the floor out of excitements sef😂

In 2024, I pray that God will shock you like He did Jacob🙏

Whatever you think you might have lost or forgotten about, or whatever you may have lost hope in, may God show you how far and encompassing His restoration is in 2024.

I wish I could witness Jacob's initial reaction upon hearing that Joseph was alive. Truly, God is good! Reflecting on this, not only did He reunite Joseph with Jacob, but He also orchestrated the preservation of over 70 people through Joseph. Moreover, Jacob had the incredible blessing of seeing his grandchildren. Despite the initial loss of one son, God graciously restored Joseph and blessed Jacob with two grandchildren.

I believe it's a season of double: Instead of shame and dishonor, you will enjoy a double share of honor. You will possess a double portion of prosperity in your land, and everlasting joy will be yours. (Isaiah 61:7). Get ready for a double, triple and more doses of restoration!

Wishing you a year filled with awe-inspiring restoration!
