How prayer rescued my friends and I😀

Hello Fam,   How was the month of November?   November was awesome, and I am deeply grateful for the gifts and blessings that God sent my way in the month of November.   The highlight for me was seeing and meeting up with friends I had not seen in ages; my dear mama Ibeji, and then my FEGO Lang sisters, with whom we had a mini reunion. At the reunion, we were asked to share some fond memories from school. I remembered mine much later, and that’s what I want to share with you all today…lol. I laugh as I recall the whole scene😀.   *** Day : I can’t really recall, but I think Saturday or Sunday. Time: Let's say between 7:30 and 8:30 p.m. Class : SS2 Location : Senior L’s Corner   So here we go…😎 The hostel was kind of empty that night, and I can vividly remember that there was no power supply, so I guess people were outside in different locations gisting. I can’t really recall where most people were, but what was most important was ...

Adira- Chapter 2

Image
Hello Fam! I hope we are all good? How was October? Today, I will be sharing the 2nd chapter of the book of Adira for your review and comments. I am hoping that as you read and drop your comments. *** Chapter 2 -  After Dr. Noe left our home, myself and Red walked towards the tree house my dad had built for me. I climbed up and peeped through the window to see if Athira was seated with her sister Fina at their usual spot beside their mom's kitchen. I smiled happily when I spotted them. I lifted the lid of the window, pushed it up and screamed excitedly, "Athira, Fina."  They both looked up excitedly. While Athira quickly made her way through the bushels separating our homes, she patted Red on her way up to the tree house. Athira was the only friend I had. We talked, played, laughed together, and fought sometimes. Our meanest fight was when Dinah, the daughter of the village chief, wanted to steal Athira away from me. Our mothers had to resolve the fight for us. I couldn...

The story of Adira (1)

Hello Fam! I hope we are all good? September went by swiftly, and I am grateful for God’s daily mercy and blessings. Today’s post is a book I began writing years back; I will be sharing the first chapter for your review and comments. I am hoping that as you read and drop your comments, I will be gingered to quickly finish it up..lol. The book is titled ADIRA.  I hope you have a good read. *** "Daddy please, tell me the story again", I pleaded. He laughed and lifted me onto his laps. "Alright Adira, I will". Daddy was the best story teller I knew, and I always loved to see his expression and gestures whenever he retold the story about my birth. It was like he was re-living that moment again. Just as he was about to start, Red rushed in through his dog hole and began hopping left and right excitedly. "Not now Red" I said trying to shove him away but it refused. I looked around in search of something to throw but found none. I pushed myself off Dad's laps...

The Simple Things of Life Matter

Greetings Fam! How are we all doing? How was the month of August; the birth month of Queens like us….lol August was beautiful and busy-full. I felt like hiding away at some point but I remain the child of my father coupled with the fact that I work, walk and pray with people who are like him; individuals driven with the desire to attain heights and accomplish great feats. However, I pray September is filled with days of ease that will allow me wax in sweet hours of pure laziness so I can catch up on courses and recoup lost weight..😁 Today, I write about a family I have adopted as my tool of gratitude; I walked to the balcony as usual to bask in the warm rays of the sun, to drink in the beauty of the blue sky and to feel the gentle breeze across my face. As I looked down the balcony, I noticed the family in the next compound; few of the kids were on the farm working, while the others sat by their thatched house watching their mum prepare breakfast. I looked closely to see...

Pause, Think, then Speak

Hello Fam! I trust the month of July went by sweetly As the month rounds up, I will like to share a true life story, not mine but a friend's. I hope it inspires and blesses you. Here we go... "When next you have the privilege to be in any car I'm driving, it's either you shut the hell up or simply get out and walk. You certainly cannot be Mrs *** in my car."   Those exact words were what I received by WhatsApp from my loving husband ❤ To say the fact, this jolted me back to reality.  It got me really thinking. The truth is that I was wrong and I overreacted. Let me narrate the genesis of this. Sit tight please 🙏  ... Some years ago, while we lived in one of the countries in the Middle East, about seven years thereabout,  I went to visit a family friend in some other part of the country.  Not just once did I witness the wife rudely speak to her hubby  - about the way he drove.  "Didn't you see that bump?", "Slow down now!" "Trafficate ...

God did it

Hello People, The first half of the year ends in few hours 💃 I look back and all I can say is THANK YOU JESUS! The first day of the year came with the promise of a travel gift from GOD. It was so clear, and I held onto it. Fast forward to the month of February, an opportunity presented itself but the timing was short and it looked impossible cos getting a visa in that short period seemed close to impossible. I almost let it go but I was encouraged by some friends to give it a try. As I mustered the strength to, I remembered what GOD had promised, so I equipped myself with it, booked an appointment and went to the embassy, the Wednesday before the due date for my trip. I walked to the counter when it was my turn to submit my documents. The lady I met, looked at me, and asked: “when are you to travel?” I replied “Sunday”. She stared at me and said “today is Wednesday, its not possible for you to travel on Sunday”. I looked at her and smiled, please go ahead. She said “are you su...

Let nothing shake your faith

The month of May went by so fast, but I have so much to be thankful  I look back, and I have to say GOD was truly faithful Today, I will be sharing the story behind the picture above;   April 7th 2017 I was packing and getting ready to travel for my brother’s wedding. As I quietly shuffled things here and there trying to make room for more items to go into the bag, I heard God say “Let nothing shake your faith”. I tried to make sense of it, but I couldn’t. I kept wondering what was about to happen that might likely to shake my faith. The next few days made it clear, and the early warning was what I held on to as the days and months passed by. Lessons: -God still speaks! -As our earthly fathers will go to any extent to warn and protect us, God does the same April 10th 2017 We all arrived to our respective destinations and work resumed. Daddy was not feeling so good, and we were glad he arrived home to be treated. I still had those words ringing in my head, so I decided t...
