“INTIMATE” WISDOM: (Un)covering what’s under everything!
Hi ladies, yes! This is strictly for the ladies (sorry guysL)
Today I want to impart some “intimate” wisdom to the ladies, we are taking fashion underground to those itty bitty things that provide covering for our body……lingerie, underwear, unmentionables…etc. whatever name you chose to call them is okay.

Lingerie, what does it mean?
Lingerie is a French word and it’s applied to fashionable undergarments designed to be visually appealing (we are sooo not talking Victorian era pantaloons here!) It connects women to femininity, sensuality, elegance and excitement. A perfect way to cover as well as offer support and flatter your figure, wearing the right lingerie can make a woman feel and look stunning and confident, or just comfortable and it can also be of different types: bras, panties, sleepwear, swimwear, corsets, bridals….etc. and it also comes in various decorative materials like Lycra, nylon, polyester, satin, lace, silk or simple cotton, and synthetic fabric.

In this part of the world, a lot of women don’t even know their underwear sizes, don’t know what fits their body type, the correct underwear to be worn under different types of clothing or the benefits of wearing good, quality underwear for that matter. The general opinion is: “it’s under, so why bother” hmmmm………sad L.

Here are some benefits of lingerie:
·       Self-appreciation: beautiful lingerie will make you appreciate yourself more. When you invest the time and effort to get and wear lovely lingerie, it is your vote that you are worth it! If you own attractive underthings that really fit you properly and flatter your body, you'll instantly boost your self-esteem, you'll feel happier, sexier, and more at peace with your body than you would if you just stuck to practical things, because "it doesn't matter".
That doesn't mean that lingerie is the only path to good self-esteem, but it can help you on your journey. You'll be surprised at the difference in your self image when you wear beautiful underthings!

·       Look better: you'll look better, both to yourself and to other people! Beautiful lingerie isn't just made out of the smallest amount of cloth available, after all. It's cut to flatter and improve, making you feel like a real princess.
That someone special in your life will definitely notice if you choose truly good quality lingerie that's flattering to your body. It takes time to find it, but good lingerie will come through for you! J

·       Increased self-confidence: It's a proven fact - when you love yourself, you feel more confident and capable of taking on more.
Plus, people are more attracted to confidence! It's appealing when you love yourself and it shows. It might seem surprising that lingerie can give you this kind of confidence, but it really shouldn't. After all, good lingerie can help you feel better about yourself; even if only you know it's there.
·       Comfort: It's also a fact that as we age, we become victims of gravity, and some of the looks we used to love just aren't as comfortable or attractive as they used to be. Flimsy garments rub and bunch and we don't feel our best. That's where high quality supportive lingerie comes in! It doesn't just make us look better - it provides the support we need to feel better, too. You'll never go back, once you've had a bra that really fits, or a shaper that makes you feel hugged from all sides.

·       Lingerie is romantic. It's those little touches that really matter in a relationship; when you stick to the practical, foregoing the romantic, you lose something from your life.
The same way that going through your day without a word of affection from your partner can suck the magic out of it, not making an effort to look and feel attractive can slowly diminish the romance. The good news is that there are lots of ways to put it back, and lingerie is a great start! (Married folks only please!!!!!!!!!! After all, he shouldn’t be able to see your lingerie if you’re not yet married).
·       Lingerie works for everybody. You might think that only young, thin, model-like figures will work well in lingerie, but you'd be wrong. It's not all barely there, figure skimming garments, though there are plenty of those, too. Plus sizes, petites, thin women, tall women, older women and everyone else can find the lingerie to make them look and feel special and beautiful. It's just a matter of finding the right pieces to enhance your look; bring out your beautiful features!
So now, on to THE most important piece of lingerie in a woman’s wardrobe (obviously we all know I’m talking about the bra here right?)
Here are some of the different types of bras we have and what they are supposed to do (maybe thankfully we’ll stop seeing so many bra straps peeking out of tank tops and some very “un-compact” looking stuff for the top heavy ladies. oops!)
SPORTS: sports bras are designed to give the needed support to women during physical activity that could cause painful bouncing. Many are designed with zippers, in front, but it is better to buy the ones that just go on like a t-shirt, with no snaps or zippers that could become uncomfortable during activity. Good sports bras are made of special fibres to remove sweat from the skin, and aid cooling.
SEAMLESS: The seamless bra is very comfortable, and a good everyday bra. Seam-free cups make the bra discreet under a tight fitting top (there may be seams in other parts of the bra and still be considered seamless). Seamless bras are a great choice for pairing with clingy knits, t-shirts and lightweight fabrics, because they are smooth and virtually invisible under clothing.
NURSING (Nursing mothers please, we know you know what this means!, we are tired of being hit in the face with pictures we don’t want to see): these are worn after child birth, the nursing bras feature cups that open to make it easier to breastfeed. They also provide good support, and are designed to be very comfortable. Nursing bras are always underwire-free, for increased comfort.
MINIMIZER: A minimizer bra reduces the appearance of the bust by up to one cup size, and they do this while still giving a flattering appearance to your figure. They are made with a full cup, and have a very oval profile. The straps are more closely spaced than on other types of bras. Minimizer bras have nice features built in, to ensure comfort, such as: padded straps, softened bra material, and "soft seal" clasps. They are underwired, for support.
iconCONVERTIBLE: A convertible bra is extremely versatile; the straps can be worn in the regular way, but can be re-arranged into "halter top" style, criss-cross, racer, backless, even strapless! With this bra you get good support, and the versatility to wear it with almost anything from a tank-top to an evening gown!
A convertible bra is a "must have" for traveling, since it can take the place of several bras.
In conclusion today,  I ask (very nicely too) that when you’re buying your next set of lingerie, please put some thought behind it and don’t just go for the cheapest you can find! Rosie Huntington, a Victoria’s secret model, said “lingerie is the ultimate feminine purchase; it gives a woman a feeling of empowerment!” Empower yourself today!!!
