Mornings with Grace 4
Helping a stranger
On this fateful day as we drove on the express to work, we saw a man by the road side trying so desperately to stop anyone that would care to stop. So many cars passed by without stopping and I don't blame them. There are different types of unseeming dangerous schemes that people come up with these days, you hardly know whom to trust.
***
Lesson 1:
It's true that people have made it difficult to lend a helping hand to those who truly need it. Nevertheless, let us not totally close our hearts to helping people. Give when asked even if the recipient is claiming to have a false ailment; he or she will reap the rewards of their actions while you on the other hand, will reap a bountiful harvest.
***
As we approached him, he waved us down. We were not sure what he wanted but Grace stopped anyway.
Question?
Would I have stopped? How about you, would you have stopped?
Lesson 2:
It takes the leading of the Spirit to know the right steps to take. The leading of the Holy Spirt can never be overemphasized. Continuous conversation with Him helps us know what to do per time, who to lend a helping hand to, the places to avoid and the people whose company will impact us positively or negatively. Your safety is guaranteed when you are led by the Holy Spirt.

So we stopped and he ran to meet us. Grace wound down the window and he told us he just exhausted the fuel in his car and he didn't have any money on him. He showed us where his car was parked and pleaded with us to give him what we could spare, so he could get fuel and drive to work. We gave him what we could and drove on. There was gratitude and relief written on his face. Lucky for him, there was a petrol station close by.
Lesson 3:
You may not have so much to give to those in need, but the little you are willing to spare can go a long way. There is always something you have in your possession, something you rarely or scarcely use that can bring smiles to the faces of many out there.
Lesson 4: Is it not amazing that the man's car stopped close to a filling station? You can never be stranded especially when you belong to GOD. The one who is responsible for you doesn't blink his eyes by mistake neither does He sleep nor slumber.
Lesson 5:
Despite the fact that his fuel got finished when he was almost approaching a filling station, he still didn't have the money to get fuel. Very frustrating.... Sometimes what we need can be staring us in the face but until we make an attempt to look for possible means of obtaining it, we might never get to have them.
Lesson 6:
The money we had on us was actually intended for other things but we let it go. Why? Holding unto what we have prevents us from receiving what GOD intends to give us. What do we have that we have not received? We own nothing and it is certain we will leave with nothing. You and I are merely channels. When we have this at the back of our minds, we will be more willing to give not only when asked, but even before we are asked.
As you step out each day, remember you are a solution to someone's problem.
